Default Multi plug under rear seat

I suspect the connector block with the fuel pump connectors in of being suspect. Would it be ok to get rid of the block and just connect the wires together and tape the connections secure. I've had a quick look at it and can't see any damage to the connectors athough they are tarnished.

The volts to the pump drop after about a second after the ignition is turned on. Thye pump works from an external power source.

Cheers
Simon

Can you not check the voltages either side of the block to confirm your suspicions? I wouldn't tape the connections together either, IF I was going to remove a multi plug I would solder the wires properly.

I've watched the voltage drop on the DVM screen, I think is the actual connectors that are causing the problem. I would solder them together if I had a portable soldering iron (will have next week). I was thinking more of a bullet crimp and tape method then when the iron turns up solder them together.

The pump will stop after a second anyway unless the engine is running

Yeah I know, but the problem I've got is the pumps not pumping on turn over, which means that its not the fuel pump relay.

Simon, had mine changed just a few weeks back, cos it was overheating and partially melted the plug, to the extent that the pump stopped working. Had thought of directly connecting back the wires, but saw the workshop replace the plug in less than half an hour's work if you are handy with wire cutter and crimper. Definitely recommend soldering the joints though, in addition to crimping.
