hi all
i currently dont own a scooby but a friend of mine does and he has a problem and i was wondering if anyone can help
he has a 1995 wrx wagon and it is a automatic he has just melted one of the pistons and the garage he took it too has told him due to it being an automatic he will need a recon engine
so can anyone tell me if this is true or if not where he can get the parts failing that can anyone recommend a garage in northants area to fix it or fit a recon engine

Being an automatic makes no difference. If the piston has melted big time, it has probably damaged the liners or block as well, but occasionally you can just replace the damaged piston. Most people get a recon engine swap through a quality company like API Engines.
