Removal of roof rails
Hi All,
My mates got 97my saloon and he wants to remove the roof rails, can anyone please provide the easiest way of doing this ie headlining removal etc.

If you mean the plastic guttering on the roof, you need a plastic knife (like the ones in McDs Big Brekkie) to lift up the rubber on the inside edge of the rail. Move it along and you'll see a grey plastic block. This has to be slid in one direction to unhook from the peg thats welded to the roof.
Repeat this several more times along the rail.
The windscreen and IIRC, rear screen have similar but beefier blocks which are trickier to move. Once you've moved these parts, carefully lift the rail off and repeat for the other side.
Oh, and I forgot to add, its a right bu99er to refit!!!
