Question Det ,and cold air feed questions

Just 2 questions
Fitted a Knocklink last week and set it to full sensitivity to check for det, now seeing the red light now and then.

Question 1, Have I set it too sensitive?

Car is a 95 sti ra,uk fuel chip, but its always ran on optimax and a bottle of millers now and again
NGK 7b plugs
runs 16/18psi

Question 2, I have a HKS racing induction kit fitted, would fabricating some kind of air box around the filter with its own cold air feed from the front (unused spot/fog light cover) help combat Det? As it is now would to much warm air going in cause DET?........ is that 3 questions.......

The standard slanty TMIC is very likely to be struggling with the additional heat generated by the increase in boost as is the standard fuel pump. May be an idea to look in these areas

It should be set to max and the red light means BIG trouble. Do not disbelieve the knocklink.

Get the filter off, its pointless in my opinion, and the HKS has poor filtration. Bet you the det dies down with the airbox on. Still shouldn't be red with an induction kit so best to start looking at hings like MAF sensors. Your fuelling cant be too good to see the red light.

Does it occur more from standing while in traffic?
