Default Brake calipers lost paint

I have an MY04 WRX with 1300 miles on the clock. I noticed that ALL the black paint has disappeared from the calipers on the front, leaving bare metal, some oxidising, and the white subaru logo. Rear calipers are fine. Is this normal?

If it happens on lots of WRXs over 1300 miles, just from regular day to day driving then I'd accept the brakes seem to get very hot very easily. If its rare, then I can't see that being the answer. I'm just not that aggressive a driver.

There are some very aggressive alloy wheelcleaners designed to shift brake dust off the rims. They also shift paint off calipers.

Could you or someone who has washed your car have used one of these products?

My MY01 did it after about the same mileage. Dealer didnt want to know. When I looked around a bit I realised that most scoob front calipers were like that.
Smooth black Hammerite works brilliantly and is still nice and shiny over 3 years later. Subaru should take note!

funnily enough, I never noticed it till after the 1000 mile service. And the dealer washed the car.
