Default Dying Water Temp sensor symptoms

I know some of you on here have had water temp sensors die. Mine to is dying, I had it checked at the garage and it should have an ohmic reading of 370 +/- 2, mines reading 328.

Can anyone, who has had 1 fail put up a post of the symptoms it caused. I have some running problems with mine, and wanted to see if it was most likely the sensor or I need to look further.

Cheers
Simon

rad fans on all the time and very rich running, so poor mpg (like you ever get good with a Scoob).

The ECU doesn't know if the engine is hot or cold so covers both options.

What about lumpy (chugging) idle, you can feel it though the cabin and watch the gear stick shake!!

It hasn't thrown the rad fan on yet, so it still hasn't completely failed.

Its a MY96 Sport. Maf was the first thing I checked, by putting it on another car, and to my horror it worked fine!!!

I'm not getting any error codes at all. When it went into the dealership, the temp sensor was the only thing that they could find that was out.
