Default octane booster

Hi guys, just wondering what effect octane booster would have on a uk model running a vos, filter and full decat?

would it cause problems due to the vos being mapped for 98ron?
would it safegaurd against det?
would it be worth using on a track day?
what bhp would be gained?

thanks jamie d

If your car is mapped to run 98 ron then your gains will be virtually nothing, if the car has been mapped with all the associated mods you have on, then you wont need octane booster, you only really need octane booster if your running either a JDM car or the wrong grade of fuel, ie 95 ron if no 97 ron is available.
It can safeguard against det, but only in adverse conditions, your ecu should compensate for temps etc.
It probably is advisable to run with some on the track, even though you may not need it, you are putting the car though alot of strain.
