Facelift question about the headlights

Facelift question about the headlights
I've tried to find the answer using "search" but maybe I just didn't use the right key words. So I apologise if this is an old well answered question.
Due to a stone thrown up from the car in front, I now have a cracked headlight.
My car is the pre-facelift model.
So if I get a set of lights for the facelift model do I just need to get a grill as well, or will the bonnet need to be changed at the same time. I'd rather not change the bonnet if I can help it.
Cheers!

If the car is a pre 97 model ie the rounded type headlights then yes the bonnet will have to be changed due to a slightly different shape on the newer bonnets to accomodate the squarer style lights. The front grille will also need to be replaced as it will not fit on the earlier cars >97

The bonnet doesn't have to be changed if you're fitting facelift headlights with a pre-facelift bonnet. I had this combination on my car for approx 6 months with no problems.
I did have to 'alter' my MY99/00 grille so that I could gain adequate access to the catch on the pre-facelift bonnet, though

Thanks for answering guys.
The cracked light has given me the incentive to replace my existing lights with a pair of twin headlights. I've only found them for sale for the facelift model. So it looks like I can get away with just replacing the grill at the same time but keeping my older style bonnet.
Goldeneye, what modification would I need to do to the newer style grill?
