driving home from work this afternoon my uk turbo my99 cut out 3 times.
once when it was idleing at trafficlights. took about 1 min to start
twice whilst accelerating. had to restart both times.
Any ideas? could it be my subaru alarm?
Has a john banks tec 2.5 fitted could this be the problem?
do you think kit is worth putting my original ecu back in?

Try the original ECU if you have it to rule out any problem. The most common ECU related cause of a cut out would be overboost fuel cut which would happen at about 1.3 bar on this ECU on full throttle.

But cutting out at idle sounds more like a MAF sensor blown. Try unplugging the MAF and then see how it idles.

What recent mods have been done and when did the problem appear?

 

No recent mods.
Had trouble with MAF last year and had new one fitted.
Will try swapping ecu back to original.
It has appeared for the 1st time today.
