Question Help needed! Battery change!

Sorry for asking a muppet question but I have about as much "under the bonnet" sense as an amoeba!
I need to replace my battery - is it as simple as just taking old out and putting new in when I have alarm and tracker fitted? Surely the alarm will go off, etc as soon as I disconnect the current battery?
Help needed please!
Thanks

Some alarms have a battery backup in the alarm itself.
Otherwise you could just disconnect the battery and nick the car etc. Get a new battery sorted out then swap them over if the alarm goes off just reset when new bat is fitted.

Cheers Red.

If you find the alarm goes off whenever you try to disconnect the first terminal, even if it is not armed - then you need to take off the other terminal first and it will be OK. That's my top tip

Also, if you are lazy then Halfords will fit the battery and dispose of the old one for only £5 extra on the price of the battery.

If the alarm goes off when you disconnect the battery, it will only sound for 30 seconds before stopping. So don't worry about it.

Tracker should be unaffected

Alarm may sound upon reconnection...simply a case of unsetting it with the remote.

Also as a note, make sure the keys aren't left inside the car, there has been the odd case with certain alarms where the doors lock when you reconnect the battery!
