Hi catalunya199again

Your MY97 uk with its td05FE

Do you have a full decat fitted, if you have what power and torque figures are you achieving.

Are there any problems with the original ecu coping with the extra boost from the td05

sorry i dont know about the ecu you're interested in. I am thinking of going Apexi fc route.

What are your other mods

I am new to this modding game but your torque figure looks low compared to bhp. I thought they should be about the same. Is this due to the original ecu

Hi catalunya199again

from reading other posts it seems the my97/98 impreza are difficult to remap, this is why I think the FC is a better option (although more pricey), because it can be mapped by an expert Andy F. He mentioned to me that 300bhp and 300ft/lb was more than attainable with the setup you have and an FC.

your setup is what I want except the Dawes device. I dont want to go beyond 300ft/lb because of the fear of burning the clutch out and wrecking the gearbox

andy. i have spoke to andy f before about the apexi and there the figures he told me to. im led to believe these powers are fine with our clutches and gearbox as long as you dont thrash it all the time in every gear

I too have a UK97 and currently achieve 310bhp. As you both say the Apexi FC seems to be the best route but after getting one I immediately sold it as the cars going soon.

Must admit the clutch seemed to struggle with 300 bhp in my case and I soon had to change to an AP item-Gearbox showing signs of going the same way. Surprised as I literally use the car to go to and from work and therefore never sees any enthusiastic driving. Got 81k on the clock now which might be the reason.

Andy confirmed I could map to a max 340 then I'd be looking at new front mount intercooler etc. After 3 years of ownership though I guess I'm just ready for a change.

Good luck

Mods:

TD05 FE
Samco's
Lightened engine pulleys
HKS EVC 5 Boost Controller
HKS FCD
Walbro Fuel pump
AP Organic clutch
Full decat
Induction filter
HKS SSQV
Run with Millers Octane Booster (Boost 1.4) and knocklink shows little sign of activity.
