Default Knocklink/Dawes Boost Control on Legacy

Hello.

My apologies for asking what will no doubt turn-out to be a daft question in the technical area, but what is a knocklink and what does it do?!

Also, where can I get a Dawes manual boost controller?

I have just bought a Legacy Turbo ('93) and I have a sneaking suspicion it's chipped 'cos it seems quicker than all the other legacies i've driven. How can I be sure? I'm a bit worried because of all the negative things written about them in this forum. (can't get hold of the previous owner to ask)

Does anyone know of a decent garage in the Bristol area who can help me out with either the removal of the chip/installation of the knocklink/boost controller?

Thanks in advance!....

Fitting a Dawes and a Knocklink is something your can probably handle yourself, mate!
Definitely fitting a dawes is.

Best thing to do is probably stick a boost gauge on it and see what boost it's running.
