There's a thread on this somewhere. Basically, MY98 has the most limited options as you cant use the TEK remap for 99> cars and cant use the ScoobyECU for 96< cars

Best mod for you is a downpipe and then look to an APEXI Power FC by Andy F, or a more expensive LINK or GEMS ECU at well over a grand.

Not sure if Power Engineering still do a MY97/98 remap, but worth a look.

Yes, but its best to do the basic mods first, then you can get more from the ECU. Not many of the options are a "chip" they are either a remap of your existing ECU, or a whole new ECU.

Yes, but I think Power Engineering are the only ones who do it commercially on your car, and that may be with a piggyback ECU from memory.

Do a search and spend some time learing about each one and how the car works. It pays off in the end.

Beware of any cheap options, a proper ECU setup will cost you money, there is no shortcut. Many have had good reports from the Apexi power FC so search for that too.

You don't have to touch your ECU at all until you have got considerably more mods than you have at the moment.

I took a standard ECU 97UK car (albeit with a FCD and boost controller) to the high 300s bhp.

The best place to put Superchips is with Superfish.
