blue haze

i have stock exhaust on m96 sti type ra and the centre section has what i think is a resonator.

does this restrict flow? if i replace this with a straight through section will it be much louder but flow better?

any insight welcome...

Yes it does restrict flow, the noise level will increase but not a lot.
