Default PPP back box.Opinions please

Im considering a ppp back box for my uk99 turbo before i get it tech3 remapped.

Just wanting opinions on wether it makes any performance gains and how they sound.Im hoping its not too loud.

Any info apreciated.

BTW,there are no other mods except it has an sti 5 exhaust atm,so the mid section will stay.

I have an 03WRXPPP and the backbox is fairly restrained compared to other perf zorst systems out there. It gives the car a nice burble that isnt going to p1ss the neighbours off.

I cant really comment on the performance gains of just the exhaust as the PPP has a complete remap to go with it.

MadMark has just a PPP backbox fitted to his 03WRX and he has noticed distinct performance gains.

I've seen a marked difference over stock BB (engine will rev right up to the line without choking at 6000rpm) on a Bugeye 01 WRX and a Blobeye 04 WRX.

I've also then changed the PPP back box on my 04 WRX to an afterburner vortex and got another improvement - even more free revving. So, the PPP box is much better than stock and the afterburner (and the like) shows there is still some restriction in the PPP box. PPP is a nice blend of power and not pissing off the neighbours.

Great

Just what I was hoping for

LOL @ the 'pissing the neighbours off' comments, but this is what I was worried about along with trying to have conversations with passengers without shouting.

My last car had a straight through HKS system. The neighbours called my car a lawnmower.

I will be getting a remap soon so I wanted to get it fitted before hand.

Realy apreciate the feedback guys

had a prodrive PPP backbox on my00 for 2 years and its a nice backbox but it will only be quiet if you dont have many mods , after a few remaps if i was to put mine thru the gears it would give you a shock at just how loud it was

So if you drive it gently up to 3500 rpm in every gear, will it still sound loud,or is it just when using boost and getting higher in the rev range?

I have seen a few scoobies around my area with scoobysport bb,they seem to look very similar to the ppp bb,would you say this is true or am I confusing myself with the wrong two exhausts.

was higher up the rev range and a lot higher up the mod range i had quite a few mods done to mine , but as you add more mods the exhuast gets louder. normal driving this exhaust isnt very loud but on full acceleration it can add a few decibels
