Default decat query

hi, i need some advice.
i have a ninja exhaust on my turbo 2000, and was hoping to get my centre section decatted - i have the afterburner decat in mind. is it just a straightforward replacement ? if so, apart from the MOT bit, are there any other potential probs that i should be aware of ? like, stories about detonation and fitting a knocklink..engine on mine is standard...just want abit more meaty note .... any other centre sections that u recommend ?
cheers
