Problem starting
Wondering if anyone can throw any light on this one?
I have never had a problem starting my scoob (MY00 wagon) before (except when i let the battery drain by knocking the vanity light on overnight ) until this Monday morning. The engine turned over fine on the starter motor but would not catch - kind of spluteered a couple of times but no go. Checked under the bonnet and there was nothing obviously loose or dropped off. Left it for abour 5 mins then it finally started up afetr a long turnover on the starter.
It sounded like the engine was not getting any fuel as everything else seemed OK.
Now, my only explanation is that the scoob was parked on my drive which is at a left to right angle and that the fuel pump couldn't pick up any fuel as the petrol in the tank was low (about 1/2 way between the quarter and empty).
Is the fuel pump on the left hand side of the tank? onder2: Car had not been moved since Friday evening.
Once she started up she has been absolutely fine, as if nothing had happened.
Any thoughts (desperately hoping nothing serious is going on )
Mike

seen it happen too, seems to be completely random thou..
one suggestion was it was the throttle butterfly not completely closed and pressing and releasing the throttle pedal should fix it.
