Switch under inlet manifold, cylinders 1 + 3 side
After the amount of time I have spent looking at my engine on cylinder 1 +3 side. I have what looks like a vacuum switch. Its got a pipe running from the top of the throttle body, to it and is also connected to a can behind the drivers side headlight with a 1 way valve on it.
What is it and whats does it do???

Emmisions control valve, it opens and closes to let the fuel tank fumes run through the carbon canistor (just under the top rad hose) and then into the inlet.

A lot of people have taken this off (and blanked the vent hosue from the fuel tank) and drilled a little hole in the fuel filler cap to let air in as the fuel goes down.
