Angry GRRRR!!! MAF sensor (again!!!)

Just been told by my local Subaru dealer that the MAF sensor (part number 22794AA010-meterCP-airflow) has to be bought with the outer shell - £260 inc Vat

I thought it was possible to buy just the part on it's own, but the service shop is saying "No, it won't fit the existing housing".......

Is this right?

Dan

They are having a laugh

On MY99/00 you can buy the sensor only, which is the correct part no you've got, for about £75.

On earlier MY's AFAIK you had to but the housing which costs about £270 but have a different part no.

That's the one I've just bought from Keith Price Subaru in Abergavenny - BIG thanks to them

Will let you know the outcome this afternoon when the car comes back.

yeh - having a chat with the owner this week. I don't expect major problems as we, as a family, have used them for the last 17 years

And no, it's not a Subaru dealer
