Default Fitting Walbro 255lph Fuel pump-advice needed

Just fitted a Walbro fuel pump to newage impreza but the new pump is longer than the stock pump. The new pumps nosel/bezel actually touches the metal fuel line (the parts that are joined by the rubber hose).

Is it safe to leave it that way? With the original pump there was about a 2-3 cm gap

Hope this makes sence

Shouldn't be a problem.

Did you use the OE pump filter or the Walbro? seems better with OE as it drops to the bottom of the tank rather than just off the bottom.

Did you cut the rubber plateform to allow the pump to fit?

this might be why it is higher?

Did you keep the electronic isolator or what ever it is?

1) Yes, I used the OE Filter
2) I haven't cut the rubber platform/base - This could be my problem - Tell me more
3) I kept everything

Thanks

On the classic and I presume the same on the newage etc.. the new walbro rubber for the bottom of the pump (the bottom of the pumps have different slots in) the walbro rubber has to be cut to allow it to fit into the cage.

If it is working then I wouldn't bother pulling it out again.. just watch it doesn't run out of fuel a little sooner than it did as the filter pickup might be just off the bottom of the tank rather than the bottom.

Good that you kept everything else as OE
