#2
Before I bought my car the guy had a head gasket go. Total cost on the receipt, for both heads skimmed, cambelt and new hoses/gaskets/plugs etc was......................... £1,800 That did include a new water pump, which was found to be leaking after the work was done though.
Probably not what you wanted to hear!

You can find many items of this type and electronics at very very good price on ebay.I recommand to everyone. The regular price for good head gaskets is about 250USD .
For cambelt I have buy a Power Entreprise Kevlar .It's very better to the stock one and the price is the same (about) . Cost is 100£.
After the must expensive is the work necessary for assemble the elements.

I was talking to a guy who sells a lot of Subaru and Cosworth parts through Motorsport news last year. He said it wouldn't cost that much to do something like that. I can't remember his number, but they only have a mobile number in there advert and are based in the Midlands.
It does depend on what they find when they pull it apart though - may need heads skimming etc.
Cambelt changes are about £250 all inclusive of parts at certain garages in my area.
