Question Petrol type?

Hi. I’ve got a UK MY99 ‘Classic’ and have run it on Optimax, as this was suggested to me. I have now moved to an area with a sparse supply of Shell stations – anyone run their Scoobys on different brands constantly? Any advantages/disadvantages??

I use Optimax when I can find a Shell station but otherwise I use BP Ultimate

Have you modded the car at all? If the engine and exhaust are stock, you could run it on 95RON UL, if you really wanted to. But the car obviously won't be running at full power, and your mpg won't be brilliant. If you've made minor mods, say to the exhaust, BP Ultimate should be your minimum. If you've made mods to the boost, Esso SUL or Optimax should really be your minimum. Of course, you could always use octane booster...
