Replacing aircon switch (MY98)
Just had my aircon regassed and it's blowing nice cold air, but the light on the dash switch isn't coming on. Is this a a simple case that the bulb's gone, or is the lack of illumination an indication that something's still not right with the aircon system?
If is just the switch how easier is it to replace it - do I need to take a lot of the centre column out to get at it?

probably just the bulb but to get at it if it's the same as the foresters you pull the **** bit which should come off the remove the trim panel and radio pull the plug off the back then with a bit of jiggery pokery push the switch towards the front of the car whilst just levering back gently the two clips on the side of the switch and it should fall in to the dash!

Cheers scoobyboy, it was the bulb as you suggested. Can't believe the switch has a tiny filament lamp when an LED would've probably been cheaper and lasted longer than the car.
So instead of £40 for a new switch, total cost of repair was £2.89. 29p for the bulb from Maplin, £2.60 tube fare there and back.
