SECS 0.0 bar Oil Pressure... Is this normal?!!
This morning started with an "energetic" drive to Bedminster down the M4/A420 until I eventually hit Bristol traffic.
After half an hour of stop/start I got bored of the van in front and started flicking through the menus on my secs1004 monitor. When I reached Oil pressure and Oil temp I was horified to see 133 degrees and 0.0bar!
Thinking this was just a sensor error I turned off the monitor and re-started the unit, with the same values coming up again. Once driving along again the temp dropped to 131 degrees and the Pressure just pipped 0.1bar....
Is this normal? as the water temp stayed constant at 80, and no warning lights came up on the dash.

Hello Mate
I thought oil pressure and temp were optional readouts dependent on having the requied sensors installed? I could be wrong of course.
Do you have these sensors, if not then these are just spurious readings and should be ignored ( I think you would notice if you had no oil pressure ;-)

Well I thought the same, but the figures change from day to day and minute to minute, so I thought they must be getting a reading from something...

It may be just noise being picked up by the unit. I just checked the PSI3 site and it definitely says they're optional sensors? I must admit it is odd that there is any reading, is there a set up option on the SECs where you can tell it if you have the sensors? Obviously the oil pressure reading is wrong if it states 0 bar, not sure about oil temp, colleague thinks oil temp should be between 90-140o C so this does sound like it is getting a reading from somewhere.

Usually I get 2.4 to 3.1 Bar on my oil as well!
So Psi recon I would need more sensors to read these variables... just thought that the MY03 ecu would monitor this and the secs grabs the info from the RS232!!
Anyone have any theory?
