Question 01 STI PPP ECU on WRX 03

Will this work ok?

I take it the engine is basicaly the same - just different pistons etc?

The only thing I can think of is the rev limit might be higher on the STI so pistons might not stand up?

well I have 225 bhp now - so with STI ecu I will have 265 - and if it is a PPP ecu then more - but like I said I think the pistons will probably melt...

The STi has different injectors and a different turbo so you can't just stick the ECU from one into your WRX.

yeah thats what i thought, it just doesnt work like that, the exhaust is different too on a PPPd car, in the STIs case i believe they have a high flow downpipe and no center cat.....

Ohh dear, do not try this on your WRX.

Firstly the ECU wont work at all unless you have your engine immobiliser on the ECU reprogrammed to match your keys.

The STI is a totally different beast to the WRX, injectors, Turbo and Fuel pump are all different and the engine is NOT the same.
The major difference as already pointed out is the VVT fitted to the STI unit.

Dont presume that you will suddenly get 265 BHP as you wont, stick with the original ECU and have it Ecuteked with a full de-cat and expect 280-295 BHP.
