1. o/sf heatshield sounds like cowbells, rattling because 2 mountings are u/s. It has previously been tacked together at one point. It looks like a lot of work to remove/replace, probably necessitating drilling and tapping the exhaust. It's not going to fall off, if left as it is. Could I just remove the lambda sensor, add a big washer and replace it? To a technical ignoramus, like me, this looks feasible - but is it?

2. I have a Z4 ecu to fit. When it's on, can I safely use ordinary unleaded?

hi,
with regards to the z4. you will need to at least run optimax. i have a z4 fitted to my my94 wrx. i use optimax and booster. in theory this is the closest u can get to 100ron fuel over here. if u can get one (i've been trying since beginning of june) a scoobyecu, it will raise target boost and allow car to run on optimax alone. hope this helps.
