Question standard ecu

can a standard ecu be re-mapped?? or do you have to get it chipped first??

It depends on what MY car, the ECU is taken from.
Anything 1999 onwards can be remapped using ECUTEK software

it's a my99. where is the best place to get this done and how much does this cost?

There's a few people about who can do it.
Check out www.ecutek.com for a list
Pat Hepborn did ours. Runs like a dream.
He is mobile and can be contacted through Mark @ Lateral Performance.
