Is a my98 ppp ecu the same as a my99 ppp ecu?

I do believe the MY97/98 ECU's are the different than the MY99/00 PPP Ecu's

NelsonUk is spot on
If your after a MY98 one though good luck as they do seem to be much harder to find than the later ones.

there is one on ebay at the moment with the intercooler pipe

No is the answer - you can only plug and play with the same MY PPP Ecu's

in my most humble opinion the one on ebay is a 99/00 !!!
I think 98's had a 'yellow 3 plug socket' - 99/00 had a 'grey 4 plug socket' = just like to one on ebay.
re pictures - have you tried a search, there has been photos of these items in the distant past...........

My MY99 Prodrive ECU has Grey connectors + pink STI sticker.
No pics though but can get some later today if you want.

The MY98 cars have a phase 1 engine, the MY99 car has a phase 2 engine (just to clarify things )
