Default Possum Link ECU questions

Hi.

Are there any hardware differences between a Link ECU for the MY97/98 Impreza and for the MY99/00? Or is it just the standard map that's different (I'm assuming it comes with some sort of standard/factory map...) ?

I checked BRDevelopments, and they list both models, but price for both is exactly the same, which was what got me wondering.

Also on the topic, I know that when installing the Link, it removes the need for the dreaded MAF. How is this acomplished from a technical point a view? How does the ecu know the amount of air coming in?

Cheers,

Paulo

John, you been drinking?!

Paulo - yes, MY98 and MY99 use different ECU's and engine went from phase 1 to phase 2.
