Default car cutting out

Can someone point me in the right direction as to what could be causing this problem ?

I start the car up and the revs drop and the car cuts out.

If I start it and keep my foot on the accelerator the car will drive ok, but as soon as I take my foot off the gas it cuts out.

Thanks in advance

Normally a cream/grey coloured valve with 3 wires, bolted to the inlet manifold, next to the throtle body passenger side.

The moving coil part of this valve can get stuck.
