Default Upgrade options

Some advice please folks...

I have a standard MY00 classic turbo (W reg). It has no mods to it at all, but I am looking to start doing a few track days. If I had up to 3K to spend on upgrades for the car what would be the best options ..?

eg... ecu, brakes, exhaust , suspension, air filter, sell it and buy something else. .... etc..etc...

cheers

You could try...

Decat Exhaust
TD05 Front entry
Walboro fuel pump 255l/h
FSE Pressure regulator
Samco/Prodrive turbo hoses
K&N Panel filter (retain standard airbox)
Tek 3 Remap
Boost controller / 3port boost solenoid
Lightened Flywheel
Upgraded clutch

These mods will take you to the edge of reliability for the standard UK gearbox - IMHO this will then become 'the weakest link' of the setup.
These are the mods on my MY00 UK turbo, and it feels like a totally different car - approx. 80 - 100 bhp up on standard, torque is much improved, and overtaking etc is now effortless! 100% factor!

You will probably want some gauges to monitor boost, coolant, AFR etc.
Many options available here...Defi - SECS etc. and a Knocklink.

As others have stated, you will want to improve brakes handling etc.
It's no good having the straight line speed if you can't get round the corners and stop effectively!

As above if you want that much extra performance - but also for the handling side a stiffer rear ARB and some solid droplinks totally transform the handling. I have an MY00 [ full decat / TEK2 / STi filter] and have put a Whiteline 22mm Adjustable ARB and powerflex rear drop links on - the difference is amazing. Found that the brakes are pretty good once you put some DS2500 pads [ or equivalent ] all round
