Default maf sensor

does anyone know if the maf sensor for a 1999 impreza turbo (uk spec) and a 1999 impreza 2.5rs (us spec) are the same? i need one for my turbo but the part is unavailable here in kenya. a mate is coming over from canada soon so i need to know if the north american part is the same. the part numbers differ so i dont know:

impreza turbo: 22794AA010
2.5rs: 22794AA000

does anyone know?

i think im just going to try my luck and order the part from the 1999 2.5rs from the states, looks the same part to me.

also, i noticed blue/black smoke coming out of the exhaust recently during idle only. when i unplug the maf sensor and start the car, the smoke is gone. is this a symtop of overfuelling or underfuelling (running rich or lean)?
