bad idle/stalling
ok my lumpy/hunting idle and stalling problem is really bad now.
i was convinced it was the idle control valve because sometimes it doesnt hunt but just idles at 200 rpm (blue smoke out the exhaust) or sometimes it would just sit at 1100 rpm.
also when it hunts/ the recently installed boost gauge also hunts (along with rev counter) from its normal -0.5 bar idle.
maf sensors and idle control valves are unavailable here in kenya - so i was overjoyed to finally get hold of a second hand idle control valve, but the problem remains.
so now it could be:
1) maf
2) fuel pressure regulators
3) pulleys
4) ????
anybody have any other suggestions?
im pretty sure its the maf sensor but i will need to order from UK - how can i make sure its the maf before ordering? can i just use a volt meter at idle to see if numbers are moving up and down?

new maf fitted - problem solved!
found it from a private scooby parts dealer for the equiv. of 90 quid while subaru kenya wanted the equiv of 400 quid!! (sensor only, not housing).
