ABS on '95 imports & slight coolant leak
Morning all,
I'm looking to buy a 95 WRX 4dr. Couple of things that concern me about the car:
1. It doesn't have ABS. When was ABS fitted as standard to scoob's? Is the fact that it's missing indicating incorrect age? Or were they an optional extra?
2. There is a slight coolant leak on the front of the engine gathering bang in the middle of the block on a ledge. Given it's location is it more likely to be pump or gasket? - I couldn't find any obvious sources.
Cheers Guys
(me desperately trying to find a decent scoob for under £6000)

My classic 96 wagon wrx has it but my mates 93 saloon doesnt - i think it came in around 95 - 96
leak could be from header tank or top radiator hoese which is a common problem - had to replace both on mine
6 k should get you a nice one at the mo. check for paint as most have had some at some time. May indicate and help you too look for accident damage.

I have got an MY95 WRX and I have got ABS. I think that the way you can tell form the outside is by wheather the ariel is on the A pillar or on the n/s rear wing as I have the later and mine is the 260bhp model. My mate has got an MY94 he hasn't got ABS but has the A pillar ariel.
Hope this makes sense.

'Scuse my ignorance - I have recently bought a MY95 with 260ps and aerial on n/s wing etc.
I assumed I had ABS, but after reading this post not so sure. How can you tell from the inside, should there be an ABS warning light etc if you have it? Haven't felt it kicking in but haven't tried a proper stop either?

open the bonnet, looking at the engine from the front bumper, on the drivers side near the wheel you should see the ABS unit it's smaller than a shoe box irregular in shape with loads of breakpipes comming out of it.
