Question tmic v fmic

good morning,
I am in the process of securing my apexiFC and td05 fitment.
I need to do a comparison of fmic v tmic (cost v benefit) to arrange everything to be done prior to mapping.
at the moment I am running full decat, green cotton filter, stiV tmic with alloy y piece and samco hoses all lumped in with a dawes device (mbc).
I also have waterspray waiting in the wings if I decide to stay with the tmic.

when fitting a fmic, I assume I would also need a vta dumpvalve and an induction filter (thereby escalating cost).

can some of the more knowledgable types please offer some advice, I promise Ive done a search but not thrown anything of note up.

I would also appreciate what gains in driveability each will give as well as the increase in numbers on the RR that can be expected (not important I know but its good for pub talk )

thanks for this,

Andy

With the right set up, some people have made 350bhp with a front mount. You won't get this high on a top mount (on that turbo). If you like driving at high speed you wont be able to get enough cooling at much over 100 mph if it's to be sustained.

Yes you need an induction kit (Could give maf sensor problems if you have a 98-00 car and use the wrong kit, older one's are stronger maf's, don't know about newer).

No you don't need a VTA, but you will need at least an aftermarket re-circ.

The TD05 remains nicely driveable on a front mount, I don't know how much better it is with a top mount though since i've never driven one.
