Question Knocklink activity

Guys,

A quick question, when changing from 4th to 5th gear the knocklink now and again goes loopy right upto the 4th light sometimes more.

Any reason why this happens, is it det or may be just a Vibration somewhere in the engine.

Sensativity set to max.

Cheers in advanced for any help.

Does it just flash up/down after a gearshift or stay up there once you are in 5th ?
What MY ? Any mods ?

This happens just after gear shift then goes fine.

MY96 STI RA, no major mods - blitz ADV, Ninja exhaust.

Although it is not ideal it is not a major problem as long as it is just an occasional quick flash, the std ECU sometimes lacks acceleration enrichment and this is more noticeable in the higher load gears such as 5th. It would be worth checking that you are not overboosting with the bigger exhaust system.
Your next move may be to an uprated fuel pump and regulator, this will increase fueling slightly and ensure you don't lean out in the higher gears.

Cheers for that Andy, I'll see how much money I've got left after visiting Scoobyclinic on Wednesday s I'm having a new clutch fitted and I might be tempted to buy a few goodies while I'm there.
