Hi Craig,
The tek 2 map can quite happily run a full decat from start, thats one of the advantages.
I am going to be selling my H & S downpipe for £140, its about 4 weeks old.
PM me if interested.
Cheers
Jt
Craig check out http://www.ecutek.com/products/tekecus/direct/ this give you the graph comparisons over standard and compares TEK 2.

Craig

AFAIK a TeK2 map is an "off the shelf " map with avearge values for a general set of mods. I had one for my De-cat bugeye. Mapper comes along, loads the map (or by post) and jobs done

TeK 3 is a bespoke map suited to all the mods on the car, can be safe or agressive as necessary !! Bob re-mapped my car with the new turbo and injectors and takes half a morning of hard work.

however the names teK 2 and TeK 3 are not "official". If you have paid for a bespoke map (TeK 3) then its cheaper to have the map tweaked as you have paid the licence fee..

Tek3 is the better map for your car, remapping a current tek3 to a tek2 will be a backwards step!
Tek 2 is an average map for usual basic mods - air filter, decat exhaust etc. and will not perform as well as a tek 3. Unless of course you have a Tek3 mapped ECU of another car and then it will not suit yours either!

If you want a good map go for Tek3 ( around £650 ?? ) or get the by post option of std modded map for a bit less.

Talk to a couple of mappers for their opinions is best bet, e.g. Bob Rawle, Pat, Powerstation etc.

Depends if you can take it back to where it was mapped, and they will change the map as an upgrade? Depends ifthe TEK licence is transferable I guess? Otherwise it will be about £600.

A Tek 2 off the shelf / by post would be more like £300 ??

Best ask the mapper then,

It's a good start.

Now contact your local mapper and see what they can do for you - it may well be just their labour as you already have the Tek3 licence so a couple of hundred quid I would guess, depending how far the current map is out from you car set up.

I think it should be fairly straight forward, and that you will enjoy it after!

There is no such thing as a "tek2"! Every tuner has their own version.

Best is to talk to a tuner close to you about applying a safe map for your mods. You will have to pay for time only, license can be re-used by the new tuner.
