Question my02 wrx- pushing the boundaries

I have a my02 wrx with

powerstation el headers
fuel pump
green air filter
tsl sports cat
hks hiper
ecu tek3

the car currently has 21k ish miles on the clock

now I don't want to be changing gear box's, clutches etc as I can't afford to through that type of money at it

what would you people suggest I do next, I was thinking sti 8, turbo, injectors and intercooler but I have heard lots of good things about the td05 turbos and will i need the intercooler?

will this all fit in with out problems and will the car still be suitable for my daily runner?

what torque do you think I will be looking at, I was told that any more that 300 lbs was pushing it - im not into santapod launches etc
questions question questions

cheers guys

My Ex neighbour got 319bhp and over 300bhp with the following.

Tek3
Pwr eng Sports cat downpipe.
Uprated Panel Filter.
Decat up pipe
Decat Centre
SS Back Box
APS Top Mount
STI7 Intercooler Scoop.

At this point his biggest problem was the size of the injectors and the clutch being on the limit. Then he fell out with the local Subaru garage and bought a new M3.

PE said that the APS topmount made a huge differeence to his car.

Hi Rich

I guess you are running the TD04L turbo.?? I loved the car when I bought mine but was used to a Toyota with more revs. I went for a TD05 front entry turbo from Andy Forrest but it needs a bit for "feeding", both with fuel and air....

I got the

TD05 (very tough turbo)
Sti Injectors.
Fuel pump
Regulator
Sti TMIC
and Bob Rawle to re-map for a daily driver as not into clutches and gearboxes etc. 325 BHP, 282 torque.

The only thing I did wrong was go for the "cheaper" top mount and am now saving for an FMIC

Does this help??

Shaun

sounds good to me, I’m going to try and get it all fit at once so may be some time collecting the bits

just out of interest how much for the turbo - are they reconditioned, don't fancy the price of a new one, that’s what was pushing me to the sti8 turbo

cheers

Rich

for turbo advice I have found Andy Forrest very up front... he posts on Scoobynet as "Andy F" and is easy to find.

Have a word with your Mapper as well... Bob Rawle advised me on mods which work well together.

Looks like a TD05 fe with a better TMIC / FMIC is a winner
