Default De-cat?

i am thinking of de-catting my MY99 Wagon, will i benefit from removing the middle cat also? i am also wondering about getting a branched d/p, is this really needed to get the best out of a MY99 or will a simple straight through be sufficient?

Most people get rid of both, as this allows the exhaust gases to flow more freely. Some people have managed to pass the MOT with just the centre cat in place but this is not guaranteed.

I think open neck dp are more popular, even though there is an argument for the twin dump variety. I don't think it makes much difference, tbh. Then there's the third option of an open neck dp with the splitter modification as sold by Hayward and Scott. Again, benefits of one type over the other are probably negligable in real world terms.
