Default Sensors on intake? (JDM STI 5/6)

I was going to remove the resonator on my STI 6 conversion and I noticed that there is an additional sensor on the front of the inlet. I know the MAF is located after the filter, but I was unsure what the other sensor was. Could this be a temperature sensor? It is mounted right on the inlet where the air enters.

Anyone who has removed the inlet/resonator/silencer - where did you relocate this sensor?

Intake air temperature. It doesn't do that much, the maps seem empty for it as far as I can tell, but you might want to mount it near or in the intake air stream.
