Question Most suitable centre section upgrade for MY99?

I currently have standard MY99 downpipe and centre section, with a Prodrive backbox. Would like to replace the centre section with something less restrictive. What are the options out there, and what opinions do you have on these?
Cheers.

Options are loads - Magnex, TSL, STI, Hayward & Scott, Scoobymania to name but a few.

They're all much of a muchness. Only real decision is whether to get one with a resonator or not. You'll be lucky to see any power difference just with a centre swap, but you're more likely to notice the change in exhaust note from the backbox.

Are you planning on changing the backbox or downpipe in the future. You may want to stick with the same manufacturer for the rest of the zorts if you do.

Question

I'm planning on sticking with the Prodrive BB, and wouldn't change the downpipe as I can't be bothered switching it on and off for the MoT.
What are the differences in quality/price on the above brands? Would all of them swap straight in for the OEM one?
Cheers

Question

Cheers - so, next question:

I've checked out the Magnex centres, and there are 2 options, with "box" and without. What is the "box"? Is it a resonator, and if so, what is its purpose (other than to resonate) - does it improve the sound, make it louder, help with performance?

Thanks for the advice

Resonator reduces cabin boom... its a non restrictive silencer.
