Second real problem of scoob ownership :(
OK then, next prob, dont think this is serious but the cam belt is squeeking (only started since its been raining the last 2 days) guessing it just needs tightening. that is possible yes??? although a work collegue says it could be a bearing gone and its expensive hope not. what you think?
cheers guys

so could it be a bearing??? now u say yes it has teeth so it shouldnt be the cam belt slipping.
where are the other belts then cause I didnt see them when I had the bonnet up. I did expect it too be the alternator belt tbh but I was pritty sure the noise was at the front of the block where the cam belt is

Sure it's not just the alternator drive belt on the front of the engine. There's an adjustment bolt to the left (as you look at it). I *think* it's recommended to tighten it until you can only twist it between 90 and 45 degrees. I set mine to 45 degrees IIRC.

AFAIK, if you can see 2 belts on the front of the engine then they are the Alternator drive belt and an aircon belt.
The cambelt/timing belt is behind the large plastic cover as shown in the pics below:-

No worries. Here's a pic of my engine bay. The belts right behind the radiator (under the two black covers are the alternator belt (left) and air-con (right).
