I've got a wrx 1995 , i use castrol rs 10w/60 oil ,and when the engines cold it sounds fine ,it's only when it starts getting warm the tapping starts and the tapping noise is coming from the passenger side of the car .
Does anyone what the noise could be and is the a cure .

One possability is,You could have disturbed a piece of crap and its stuck in the lifters,And these can take forever to clean out,I have been told of people using hydraulic lifter cleaners...But....???? .,The noise is irritating i know...try perhaps a few oil changes and use the detergent in them to try and clean any debris out....BUT it can be very difficult to clean....Just a thought...No Doubt it`ll keep coming and going....????..Kev.
