Default Any ideas?

Hi,

Me and the car (MY98 - 79k miles, totally standard) are having some problems.

I just had the full bifter 90k service done including replacing the fan belt and timing belt tensioner, but about 2 days before the service, the car started to get a fuel cut "like" effect when booting the car in third, fourth and fifth. First and second gears can be wound round to the red line with WOT and with no problems.

In the higher gears, when accelerating from 2500rpm with my foot flat the boost seems to momentarily drop off at around 3000rpm but in a more gentle way than the "smacking the windscreen" effect with fuel cut (my car does this when it gets a tank of Optimax so I know what it feels like).

At the service max boost pressure was 15psi and apparently it was dumping OK - according to the garage.

Any ideas as to the likely problem - I'm thinking solenoid for starters.......

Cheers
Stu
