My blob WRX has done about 9k now.

It seems to be using oil at a rate of about 200ml per 500 miles.

Is this ok? Seems a lot too me?

I would get it to a garage / dealer and get it checked. If you have no leaks etc, it may be worth you getting a compression test done ?

Does it smoke when you start it up first thing in the morn ?

We are assuming it is 9000 miles from new, right? It should be well run in by then so I would have thought the consumption was far too high. My last Scooby was using about 500ml between oil changes at 115000 miles.
