Hi im looking at buying another bugeye after a seized engine on last one, what are the main differences between a uk sti or a jap sti 7, is it only the jap that has the 6 speed box? whats the pwerformance difference like?

From my research I found that the JDM had the following differences.

Produced from 2000
Larger Turbo
Privacy Glass (GL model)
Rear wiper
Folding Mirrors
HID lights (GL model)
280 bhp

There are probably a few others but these are off the top of my head. I was under the impression that all Sti7 were 6 speed. Uk versions diddnt appear until 2002 I think.

I owned a 280 Classic WRX and to be honest the Sti is no quicker but there is a massive difference between the cars in power delivery. The Sti is so smooth and is a gives a less seat of your pants experience. IMHO I am no expert driver mind and I am sure a lot of people will have different opions

Y'Know I asked the same question, and I actually would like one with a blown engine, as I want to fit a 2.5 in it.
