Default Dawes Dual stage controller - Can someone explian how they work?

http://www.dawesdevices.com/dualstage.jpg

Ok, I understand how the normal Dawes device works, but how does the dual stage one work?

Am I right to think that the limit on each side is set to whatever you want, then you press a button to switch between the 2? Can you do this while driving?

Is the lower setting adjustable /variable in the car or not.

Is there any benefit to running a low boost setting for economy driving ie motorway driving

Thanks for any advice/help.

Pretty much as you say from looking at it. It is just two Dawes with a solenoid to switch between one and the other. So you can't adjust in the car.

Economy would benefit by using less right foot but if you have a digital throttle pedal then the low boost setting would help.

Dawes has no info on this unit on their site do they?
I just bought a Turboxs dual stage, i think its pretty much the same as the Dawes, altho the Dawes might have both ball-and-spring, where the TXS has the low boost as a regular bleed valve, and the high boost as a ball and spring (they do make a version with both hi and lo using ball and spring).
The low boost is on as default, switching the toggle activates the high, you can set them independently, but from the engine bay, you need to take a run to see what boost you are hitting, then do some twisting adjustment and recheck peak boost, trial and error.
Note- the lowest you can set the peak boost is limited by the tension of the wastegate actuator spring (about 7psi in subie TD04's generally?), this would be the equivalent of if the compressor nipple were directly connected to the wastegate actuator.
