Default Acceleration Problem

Has any one any ideas to help me out here ..... ?

I've got a uk spec 1998 Turbo, and when accelerating in 4th or 5th gear at about 4000 revs there seems to be a sudden power loss, its goes with a sort of jolt as your pulling away, it doesnt do it all the time, and there no pattern of when it will happen.

Any help appreiciated .......

Thanks ......

mine UK99 did this nailing it between 3rd and 4th sometimes, it sort of goes in with a bang. I think its gone since changing the fuel pump for an uprated one.
