Question fuel gauge not working!

hi my fuel gauge only registers to half full even when on a full tank.
i have topped it up more than once to bursting point and let it run right down a few times to see if this sorted it out but no.
i got told the sensor is located under rear seat, how do i check it...
someone must know?

thanx in advance

Mine did this too but only the once! Started to work properly when the tank must have reached half full. Mine started when I filled it to the absolute brim, so not done it since! The only thing I suggest is go for a quick drive round some windy bends, and throw the car about abit! Might dislodge the sticky float.
