Unhappy Very Scared!

Hi all
After already going through an engine last feb, i am worried that my new one is going down the same path.
I fitted yesterday a 1995 wrx RA ecu to my 1993 wrx and tonight it doesnt turn over very well. When the missus returned from her shopping, she said that it wasnt running so well. She went outside and went to turn it over and it took a few more seconds turning over than usual. Its almost asif it started slow and sped up then started but when it did, you could hear the starter motor still spinning for about half a second.
This may be usual to other owners but as my car didnt do it with the old ecu, i am a bit worried.
Just to add, that when i tried it after she showed me, it started fine.
Can this be anything to do with the big ends or anything nasty like that?
I am re setting the ecu over night. I dont know if it will do anything.

OOOh shoosh.

Be careful mate.

Change back to the standard ecu and see if it goes back to normal.

Its problably nothing to sinister.

Hi Dave
Thanks for your reply.

The engine light isnt on and the car now dislocates my head from my shoulders!!
I hardly ever floor it and is only used to destroy donkeys! I just dont want the engine to collapse like the old one.
You know what its like, you are always listening out for any weird noises and feelings etc.
So all should be ok?
When it does turn over, it sounds and runs fine

Johnny

I don't know much about ecu's BUT have read many posts against changing ECU's not specific to a certain type of impreza.

If you have a 93wrx and you are fitting a 95 RA WRX ecu these are differant cars (type) are they not. So it may be you have been running lean, rich anything .... ??????? If you get my drift...

I would go back to the standard ECU until someone with the right knowledge can give you the green light so to speak......

All the best
Pete
